Obama shatters fundraising record

Obama raised $150 million in September -- holy cow!!!  This shatters the previous record he set in August of $66 million.  What's even more remarkable is the source of the money:
the Obama campaign said that the campaign in September "added 632,000 new donors for a total 3.1 million donors to date." The statement added: "The average donation for the month was  less than $100. The average contribution for the campaign is $86."
So McCain's sour grapes are unfounded:
"History shows us where unlimited amounts of money are in political campaigns, it leads to scandal,'' he said on "Fox News Sunday."
This isn't the big special interest money that does indeed corrupt politics -- instead, the donations are mostly from millions of Americans who are inspired by Obama (and sick of the never-ending disasters this administration and the Republican Party are responsible for).

This unprecedented fundraising is of course translating into a huge advantage in ad spending, on-the-ground efforts, etc., which I'm sure many Republicans will view as unfair.  HA!  The Republicans' huge fundraising advantage in the past two elections led to our country suffering under the worst President in history for the past eight years, so it's about time the shoe was on the other foot!
