The importance of early voting

A friend with good points on the importance of early voting:

I was speaking with one of Georgia's main organizers for Georgia Thursday night  and the big push is to have any Obama supporter vote early if a state allows it.  In Georgia, voting begins Monday at certain locations in each county.

 

The Obama campaign is very concerned about polls being overwhelmed on election day and that when voters see the lines on election day they will turn away because of other work or personal obligations.  The system is not designed for so many to participate and Obama's people think it will take hours to cast a vote.

 

Obama will very much rely on "new" voters and anything that deters them is dangerous in close states.
